We are two days away from one of my favorite events of the year. While the full name is a bit of a mouthful–The Penn State Symposium for Teaching and Learning with Technology–we fondly refer to it simply as Symposium. This is an event packed to overflowing with examples and dialog of what we are doing at Penn State and it is an unbelievably rich experience. Every year I think I know what’s going on, and every year I am amazed at the number of Penn State faculty demonstrating their willingness to embrace emerging technologies and incredibly innovative thinking. I am blessed to have a job that allows me to help, in some small part, highlight these amazing faculty.
Love it! Best video! I’m grinning from ear to ear.
Anyone who would like a preview of Dean Long and Dolan’s session at the Symposium “Engagement and Community in the College of the Liberal Arts,” plus see good old Dwight getting his mug in a photo once again, can go here: http://bit.ly/gEehi3. It’s an interview with Dolan as part of the Symposium Stories series on the TLT Symposium site.
Great post and great video! See you tomorrow!
Robin, I continue to be so impressed with the way you engage with social media. You understand that it is about cultivating human relationships.
Magnanimity is a rare virtue, but you have it and I appreciate it.
Thank you for embedding that video, which was so fun to make. I do think it captures something important about an approach to student engagement I have learned from you: you need to be authentic, you need to give students a chance to put words to their experiences, and you need to have some fun.
Thanks.
Chris
