I’ve just stumbled across THNKR, a YouTube channel of an amazing collection of videos by @radicalmedia whose sole purpose is to expose you to people, stories, places and thinking that will change your mind. Check out their trailer, below.
I am a little bit in love with them. Okay, a lot in love with them. In their EPIPHANY series, they highlight impassioned thought leaders like Alexis Ohanian (a personal favorite), whose startups like reddit, Hipmunk, and Breadpig empower the user, do good, and demonstrate his passion for making something people love. (Aside: I’m an avid Hipmunk user, a travel booking site which provides results searchable by a number of criteria, my favorite being agony.)
Passion. Innovation. Desire to do good. How could you not be inspired by a guy whose mission statement is “make the world suck less”? I find that after watching the entire series of five videos on Alexis — basically 20 minutes — I feel like he and I sat down and grabbed a beer and discussed the possibilities of the internets. Awesome.
Launched earlier this month, THNKR’s YouTube channel is full of nuggets of gold like this. It is well worth the time to delve into the other offerings of THNKR’s featured series: BOOKD (exploring game-changing books), PODIUM (embracing the art of oration), PRODIGIES (showcasing the youngest and brightest), and of course, EPIPHANY (revelations of thought leaders). These original offerings are amazing and thought provoking and, dare I say it, inspiring. This is a channel whose content is meaty while still easily consumable (okay, now I’m hungry) and, in my opinion, offers the same level of inspiration that TED Talks present. I challenge you to watch these videos and NOT be moved as to the possibilities of our world.
And perhaps even change your mind.
