You haven’t seem much of me online today. I’ve been taking care of business on my end. Of course, you say, but there’s always time to drop a tweet or two. True enough. And here I am, whispering in your ear before I go to the next order of business. Because there’s a special event this afternoon I’m just dying to tell you about. Remember that job I was applying for involving social media?
I’ve got an interview for it this afternoon.
I’m the last candidate to interview, and I’m at the end of the day, but I’m definitely ready and very excited about this opportunity. I’m anxious to meet with the search committee–and really, I should stop writing and start prepping. So why am I telling you this? Well, it seems to me that the hiring process is a real closed door process and, while there are some reasons why this should be, in the long run, I prefer to be up front. Transparency is a good thing, and I’m not much about the hiding. So I’m bringing you along in the process and hoping they like me as much as you do. I’m not sure anyone who knows me would be surprised that I’m interested in this position. It’s about teaching and learning with technology and incorporating social media into the mix. Thanks to you, gentle readers, I know why I they should hire me; I now only have to explain it to the hiring committee. I’m feeling more than a little good about this; I’m feeling ready for whatever comes my way. So wish me luck, and let’s get on with this.
No power in the ‘verse can stop me.
